Vintage Vallona Starr salt and pepper shakers are tucked in a small cloche to make them extra-special.
In the 1930s, Everett Starr Frost, Leona Frost, and Valeria Dopyera de Marsa began a startup ceramics manufacturing company in Los Angeles.
Vallona (Valeria + Leona) Starr (for Everett) Ceramics eventually moved to El Monte, California where they continued manufacturing until 1953.
Their best-known pieces included salt and pepper shakers, sugar and creamers, vases, cookie jars, and ornaments, they're known and beloved for whimsical designs like the Winkies, the Up Family, and lower fairies, as well as Corn, Cosmos, Woodland, and Sweetheart designs.
